We have all sinned. The Bible says: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23.
Sin and death entered the world when Adam disobeyed God in the garden of Eden and the relationship between God and man was broken. The Bible says: Wherefore, as by one man sin entered the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Romans 5:12
We have all broken God‘s laws. The Bible says: As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one. Romans 3:10
Have you loved God perfectly all through your life? The Bible says: ... Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. Matthew 22:37
Have you always loved your neighbour as yourself? The Bible says: ... Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Matthew 22:39
Have you ever taken God's name in vain? The Bible says: Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; ... Exodus 20:7
Have you ever told a lie? The Bible says: Thou shalt not bear false witness ... Exodus 20:16
Have you ever committed adultery? The Bible says: ... whosover looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. Matthew 5:28
Have you ever hated anyone, even for a split second? The Bible says: Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: ... 1 John 3:15
We have all gone our own way. The Bible says: All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way … Isaiah 53:6
The fact is that the human heart is deceitful and wicked. The Bible says: The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Jeremiah 17:9
Here are just a few evil things that come out of the human heart. The Bible says: For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: Al these evils things come from within and defile the man. Mark 7: 21-23
Let's face it, we all need God’s forgiveness. The Bible says: Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin? Proverbs 20:9
We cannot make ourselves right with God by our own efforts. The Bible says: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
Only Jesus Christ can save us. The Bible says: Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12
Jesus Christ came into the world to be our Saviour. He came to make it possible for the broken relationship between God and man to be restored. The Bible says: … Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners … I Timothy 1:15
Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the world, is Almighty God. The Bible says: And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh ... 1 Timothy 3:16
Jesus Christ is perfect. The Bible says: And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. I John 3:5
The Lord Jesus Christ, God the Son, gave His life on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins because He loves us. The Bible says: But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
The Lord Jesus Christ took the punishment that we deserved to take. The Bible says: But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5
He bore our sins in His own body on the cross. The Bible says: Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree … I Peter 2:24 Jesus shed His precious blood to redeem us and for the forgiveness of our sins. The Bible says: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Colossians 1:14
Jesus Christ rose from the dead three days later. The Bible says: For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures; I Corinthians 15:3-4
Jesus Christ triumphed over sin and death! The Bible says: Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. John 11:25
It is not enough just to believe the facts about Jesus and what He has done for us however - we must repent, believe in Jesus as our risen Saviour and confess Him as Lord.
God is offering forgiveness and eternal life as a free gift through Jesus Christ. The Bible says: For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23
We must admit to God that we are sinners and be sorry for our sin! The Bible says: For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin. Psalm 38:18
We must change our mind about sin. We must turn from our own way, turn from our sin to God in our hearts. This is called repentance. The Bible says: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. Isaiah 55:7
We must believe in Jesus Christ as our risen Saviour, believing that He is Almighty God - God the Son . The Bible says: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
We must confess Jesus Christ as Lord. The Bible says: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9
Repent, believe in Jesus Christ as your risen Saviour and confess Him as Lord then you will receive God’s forgiveness. The Bible says: Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; Acts 3:19
WArning
The Bible promises us salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ but warns us of our perilous state without him. The Bible says: He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. John 3:36
If you refuse to repent and believe in Jesus as your risen Saviour and die in your sins, lost without Christ, you will go straight to hell! The Bible says: ' ... he that believeth not shall be damned. Mark 16:16
Hell is a place of fire and torment! The Bible says: And in hell he lift up his eyes,beingintorments ...' Luke 16:23
You will stay in hell until the Day of Judgment for unbelievers! The Bible says: And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Hebrews 9:27
After being judged by the Lord Jesus Christ before his great white throne you will be cast into the lake of fire, the final, everlasting hell! The Bible says: And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:15
The lake of fire is a place of everlasting torment! The Bible says: … the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever, and they have no rest day nor night. Revelation 14:11
Why go to hell when you can go to heaven instead?
Now is the time to come to Christ. The Bible says: … behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. 2 Corinthians 6:2
You must be born again. The Bible says: Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3:3
Will you come to the Lord Jesus now in repentance? Will you believe in your heart in Jesus Christ as your risen Saviour? Will you now confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord? The Bible says, For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Will you now call upon the name of the Lord for your salvation? The following prayer will help you to do this. (If you are unable to speak you can still pray this prayer! God who sees your heart , knows you would confess Jesus with your mouth audibly if you could! You can still call upon the name of the Lord! )
Lord Jesus Christ, I come to you because I am a sinner. I am sorry for my sin. I turn from my sin and I turn to you. I believe that you died on the cross for my sins. I believe that you shed your precious blood for me. I believe in my heart that you rose from the dead. I receive you as my Saviour. I confess that you are my Lord and my God. Thank you, Lord, for saving me. Amen. If you have just received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, the following Bible verses will encourage you:
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: John 1:12
And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Galatians 4:6
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. Romans 5:8-9
He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 1 John 5:12-13
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
