I became a Christian at the Billy Graham LIFE Mission in Crystal Palace Stadium in the Summer of 1989 and my life changed forever in a wonderful way!
I listened intently to the message that Billy Graham preached as I sat in my seat in that great stadium. As he explained that Jesus loved us so much that he gave his life for us on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins and rose again, I knew I needed Jesus to be MY Saviour.
When Dr Graham gave the invitation for people to get out of their seats and walk to the front of the platform, I did so. As I stood in the crowd I knew that I was a lost sinner and I was struck with my need of God's forgiveness. I saw a picture in my mind of Jesus dying on the cross for ME and I KNEW I needed to turn away from my own way and surrender my life to him.
When Billy Graham asked those who had come forward to bow their heads and to repeat a prayer after him, I did so. There in that great crowd I came to repentance and faith in Jesus as God my risen Saviour and I confessed him as Lord. Immediately I was filled with joy and peace and I KNEW Jesus was in my life forever by his Spirit. There and then I had received forgiveness and eternal life. In short: I had been born again!
That peace has never left me. Jesus is my Saviour and my friend. My soul is forever saved. I have peace with God. It's amazing to have this peace!
YOU can have peace with God too. Jesus loves you so much that he died on the cross for you too ....
The Bible says: And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. 1 Timothy 3:16
3For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: 1 Peter 3:18
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:4-6
Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: ....' 1 John 3:16
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23
Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; Acts 3:19
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9-10
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13
All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. John 6:37
The Sinner's Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ, I come to you because I am a sinner. I am sorry for my sin. I turn from my sin and I turn to you. I believe that you died on the cross for my sins. I believe that you shed your precious blood for me. I believe in my heart that you rose from the dead. I receive you as my Saviour. I confess that you are my Lord and my God. Thank you, Lord, for saving me. Amen.
If YOU have just come to the Lord Jesus Christ, God the Son, I would love to hear from you!
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 1 John 5:11-12
